Still Listening

Still Listening features Sputter Box’s newer repertoire with expansive percussion setups. This program introduces audiences to composers whose work masterfully combines clarinet and bass clarinet, voice, and percussion. With all works written for Sputter Box, the program offers a variety of emotions and musical styles. Topics range from the growing pains and the nostalgia that comes with letting go of a previous version of yourself, to a piece where the soprano is hilariously possessed by the ghosts of dead operatic composers. With its intricate percussion setups and range of compositional influences and topics, Sputter Shows is sure to captivate and resonate with the audience.

This program is best for venues that cannot provide any percussion equipment.
