Sputter (PLUGS IN THE) Box

Sputter (PLUGS IN THE) Box features Sputter Box works with electronics and video projections. It features composers Kennedy Taylor Dixon, Julienne K. Tsang, Bobby Ge, and Tania Cortés Becerra. Using clarinet, bass clarinet, voice, percussion, electronics, and video art, each composer is writing about a topic they relate to: traumatic nightmares, the Japanese zuihitsu literary genre and its themes of impermanence, social decay, and nature’s beauty, and the mysterious death of migratory birds, known as cuvivíes, in the lagoons of Ozogoche, Ecuador. The electronics components will include recorded tracks and live electronics.

This program is best for venues with audio and video tech capabilities and live sound engineering staff members.

Four separate works for clarinet/bass clarinet, soprano voice, percussion, and electronics, with team of 7, 3 musicians, 4 composers/technicians
